Affirming therapy, where all of you is welcome

I offer LGBTQ+ affirming somatic therapy online across Florida. Affirming here means exactly what it sounds like: your identity is not a problem to be solved in this room. It is part of you, and all of you is welcome.

What Affirming Means Here

LGBTQ+ affirming somatic therapy in Florida

Living in a body is complicated for almost everyone I work with. Living in a body the world has opinions about adds a layer that talk alone rarely reaches: the scanning before you speak, the bracing before you introduce your partner, the exhaustion of deciding, room by room, how much of yourself is safe to bring.

That vigilance is not a character flaw. It is a nervous system doing math it learned to do for good reasons. Somatic therapy works with exactly that: we help your body unlearn the constant calculation, tend to old wounds, including family and faith wounds, and grow your capacity for rest, joy, and connection that does not require editing yourself first.

And sometimes what brings you to therapy has nothing to do with identity at all: grief, anxiety, a breakup, a career door closing. You deserve a therapist who simply gets the context without needing a seminar, so the hour stays about you.

FAQ

Questions about affirming therapy

Are you an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist?

Yes, fully and actively. Affirming in my practice means your identity is welcomed, never pathologized, and never treated as the automatic explanation for whatever brings you to therapy.

Will I have to educate you about my community?

No. Educating your therapist is not your job. If something about your experience is new to me, I do my own learning between sessions so our time stays focused on you.

Is online therapy private enough for me to be out in session?

Sessions run on a secure, HIPAA compliant video platform, and you choose the space you join from. Confidentiality rules protect what you share in session the same way they would in any office.
