Who I Help · Anxiety

Anxiety therapy for the woman who seems fine

I help high functioning women whose anxiety hides behind competence: overthinking every interaction, redoing the email four times, lying awake rehearsing. We treat anxiety at the body level, where it actually runs, online across Florida.

The Hidden Kind

High functioning anxiety is still anxiety

Nobody at work would guess. You are prepared, warm, on time, excellent. The anxiety lives underneath: the chest that tightens when a meeting invite lands with no agenda, the apology drafted before anything is wrong, the inability to sit still with your own accomplishments for even one evening.

High functioning anxiety rarely responds to logic because it is not a logic problem. It is a body pattern, often learned early, in which alertness earned safety or love. Your system never got the update that you are allowed to be at ease now.

So we work where the pattern lives. You learn to catch the spiral early in the body, to bring your system down with tools that work in real time, and, more deeply, to unwind the old rule that says rest must be earned and vigilance is love. Insight is part of it. Relief comes from further down.

What Changes

What anxiety treatment with me looks like

Weekly 50 minute video sessions blending somatic work, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Early on we focus on real time regulation skills. As your system steadies, we work with the history underneath the vigilance. Clients typically describe the change as quiet: fewer spirals, longer exhales, evenings that actually end.

FAQ

Anxiety questions

Can anxiety be treated without medication?

Therapy is effective for many people with anxiety, with or without medication. Medication decisions belong with a prescriber; I am glad to coordinate care and support whatever combination serves you.

Why does my anxiety get worse when I try to relax?

For a system trained to equate vigilance with safety, stillness can feel like dropping your guard, so alarm rises exactly when you slow down. It is a common pattern and it is workable, gently.

Is online anxiety therapy effective?

Yes. Video sessions let you be in your own space, with your own comforts around you, which many anxious clients appreciate.
