Who I Help · Trauma

A trauma therapist for the body that remembers

I am a trauma therapist based in Orlando, seeing adults across Florida by secure video. My approach is somatic: we work with the nervous system that trauma actually lives in, gently and at your pace, without requiring you to relive every detail.

What Counts

Trauma is what happened inside you, not just what happened to you

Some trauma has a name and a date. A lot of it does not: the childhood where love was conditional, the relationship that slowly rearranged your sense of reality, the years of small emergencies that taught your body the world is not safe. If it overwhelmed your capacity to cope and your body still reacts to it, it counts. You do not need a qualifying disaster to deserve care.

Signs I see often: hypervigilance dressed up as conscientiousness. Startling easily. Shutting down mid conflict. Fog, numbness, or feeling outside your own life. Repeating relationship patterns you can see clearly and cannot seem to exit. A harsh inner voice that sounds suspiciously like someone from your past.

In our work, safety comes first, always. Then, gently, we help your body process what it has carried, using somatic methods, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. You control what we touch and when. Healing does not require re-traumatizing you; it requires the opposite.

Choosing

Finding the right trauma therapist in Florida

Fit matters more than anything in trauma work. You want someone whose pace respects your nervous system, whose approach reaches below insight, and with whom some part of you can exhale. That is what the free consultation is for: fifteen minutes to feel it out, with no obligation and every question welcome.

FAQ

Trauma therapy questions

Do I have to talk about the details of my trauma?

No. Somatic approaches let your body process experiences without narrating every scene. You share what you choose, when you choose.

What is the difference between trauma therapy and regular therapy?

Trauma therapy is structured around how overwhelming experiences affect the nervous system: safety and pacing come first, the body is included, and processing happens in tolerable doses rather than through raw retelling.

Do you treat complex PTSD?

Yes, it is one of my core specialties. If your trauma repeated over years rather than arriving as one event, my complex PTSD page describes that work in depth.
